AUTOMOTIONAL PUTS FLEETS ON THE ROAD TO SAFER DRIVING WITH TRIO OF NEW RISK MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS

April 7th, 2014

Risk manage drivers from just £4 per month - that’s the tempting offer being made to public, private and voluntary sector fleets by Automotional with the launch of a new comprehensive range of Driver Risk Management (DRM) packages.

Branded ‘Basic DRM’, ‘Full DRM’ and ‘Full DRM Plus’, all the packages include an annual driver risk profile, regular e-learner modules bespoke to individual driver requirements, password protected 24/7 data management and full ‘grey fleet’ compliance including driver notification when document renewal is due.

To that list, depending on the package option chosen, can be added:

  • Driver licence checking via the Driver Vehicle and Licensing Agency with frequency determined by driver risk
  • A monthly driver Well-Being Profile with instant reporting and advice
  • Quarterly bespoke report with advice and recommendations from Automotional’s experienced occupational road risk management team
  • Practical on-the-road driver training
  • Specialist driver training courses including fuel saving, skid training, off-road 4x4 and winter driving.

Automotional director and co-founder Andy Neale, who has more than 25 years occupational road risk management experience, said: “Our new suite of driver risk management packages are extremely cost effective and are available with no minimum contract length and no administration fees.

“Unlike many other organisations that claim to offer risk management but in reality are contract hire and leasing companies or accident management providers, Automotional remains a dedicated driver risk management specialist with all of our products developed and delivered by our own in-house experts and not delivered via third parties.

“The key to effective driver risk management is continual education - and not a one-off training or risk assessment hit. That is why part of our DRM programme focuses on exposing drivers to simple yet interesting messages and regular e-learner modules tailored to their own profile.

“Automotional differs from other providers because we engage directly with drivers and provide them with a vast amount of accessible information online which enables them to grow and develop their knowledge and driving skills all from just £4 a month.”

Northern Powergrid, which distributes power to customers in the North East, Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, will be putting “several hundred” drivers a year though on-the-road training with Automotional after recently appointing the company as its official provider following a competitive tender.

Staff undertaking training will be “prioritised” following online assessment; new employees that will drive for the company; and staff involved in an incident on the road.

Chris Charlton, road risk manager, Northern Powergrid, said: “We previously used a number of different on-road training providers, but opted to consolidate so we receive a consistent approach to training.”

Key factors in appointing Automotional were product quality; value for money; and delivery timescale. It is anticipated that training will commence imminently.

To support demand for the suite of DRM packages, Automotional has recruited Rachael Long as business development manager from Balfour Beatty Fleet Services (BBFS). Ms Long spent more than four years at the Balfour Beatty Group and two years in a business development role at BBFS with responsibility for delivering driver risk management both within the Group and to external clients.

Meanwhile, Automotional will be exhibiting at this year’s Company Car in Action event at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire on June 10 and 11. The event is organised by industry publication Fleet News.
